The type of natural Buton asphalt B 5/20 is used as an additive to improve the quality of asphalt in hot mix. Natural Buton Asphalt B 5/20 is a granular type of asphalt processed using a crusher, hammermill, and dryer to reduce particle size and moisture content.
One of the advantages of Natural Buton Asphalt B 5/20 is that its application does not require special equipment, making it very easy to use for contractors who have never worked with this material before.
According to the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 18/PRT/M/2018 concerning the Use of Buton Asphalt for Road Construction and Preservation, Natural Buton Asphalt B 5/20 can be applied to two classes of road traffic: Class II and Class III. Class II roads carry traffic of 10–30 million ESAL, while Class III roads carry 4–10 million ESAL.
